Film Rocks The Earth



Show your love for Mother Earth this Saturday, April 22, 2017 as the National Parks Development Committee in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, Cinematheque Centre Manila and Miyaw Production through the program LABS KITA, SABADO! present“FILM ROCKS”, an event to raise awareness on environmental literacy in celebration of Earth Day. Hosted by Ms. Pia Marie Paulican, the show will start at 4:00 p.m. with a free public film screening of “Bamboo Flowers”, by Maryo J. Delos Reyes followed by a concert at 6:00 p.m. Admission is FREE!

Featuring seasoned actress Mylene Dizon, Max Collins and Ruru Madrid, the film “Bamboo Flowers” is an anthology inspired by the chandelier-shaped bamboo flowers that blossoms only before its death. Set in the beautiful island of Bohol the film follows the different lives of people who have to deal with the ever changing world, erosion of traditions and beliefs – factors that pushed them to make drastic life decisions.

Performing for this special Earth Day concert are the bands – CHIMERA, a group whose music is described as chaotic but powerful; the five piece “aesthetically pleasing”band CAFFEINE AND TAURINE; our very own world music rock group, TALAHIB PEOPLE’S MUSIC; the rock band from Quezon City, TRIDENT; the punk band CHIXCHIRYA and the dance duo JILDAN AMSID and JOHN GOZON.
